Last October, Bobby and Peter Farrelly has announced that they wanted to revisit one of their biggest comedy hits, DUMB & DUMBER (1994) with a long-overdue sequel. They also hope to reunite original stars Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels as well. But the project is yet to see the greenlight and Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Carrey declined to reprise his role in the sequel.
According to sources, Carrey grew increasingly frustrated by New Line and Warner Brothers, who he felt showed a lack of enthusiasm regarding the project.
And so they reached out to Carrey's publicist, who provided this particular quote from the actor, "I would have thought Dumb and Dumber Two was a no-brainer, after all it's implied in the title."
Hmm, now that Carrey is out of the picture, I seriously think that DUMB & DUMBER sequel is as good as dead. After all, what's the point moving forward when the main man is no longer involved?
