With TERMINATOR 5 currently in limbo, especially after director Justin Lin bowed out last September, nobody knows for certain whether the highly-anticipated fifth installment is going to see the light of the day or not. However it is still believed that Arnold Schwarzenegger remained intact as T-800. What's more, director James Cameron, who helmed the first two installments, recently revealed he advised with the actor about TERMINATOR 5 and cited it needs to revolve around the T-800 character.
I was talking to him back in fall about a new Terminator film and quietly advising on that, I suppose you could say. I was trying to be as encouraging as possible. Frankly, at that time, I thought it needed to be more about him. I told him he should not do it until it's focused on his character or he shouldn't do it. I think there are some great stories that can be told about that character that haven't even been thought of yet.
Hmm, it's good to see that James Cameron himself provided some input on TERMINATOR 5. Now the biggest question is: Who is going to replace Justin Lin and when are they going to start shooting?
