For decades (since 1999, to be exact), writer-star Dan Aykroyd has been working tirelessly to get the whole old gang back together for third round in the long-gestating GHOSTBUSTERS 3. But one main problem that keeps the project stalling on and off is Bill Murray's refusal to return as Peter Venkman. And now Dan Aykroyd has finally learned the truth that Bill Murray isn't going to return after all. Here's what he had to say below.

At this point it [Ghostbusters 3] is in suspended animation. The studio, the director Ivan Reitman and Harold Ramis feel there must be a way to do it, but Bill Murray will not do the movie. He doesn't want to be involved.

So will GHOSTBUSTERS 3 ever materialize without Bill Murray? Only time can tell.
