DIE HARD 5 Goes Global And A Possible New Director!

The long-gestating project of DIE HARD 5 has been suffered constant setbacks after Bruce Willis announced he would like to make another two more DIE HARD movies before he retired his iconic John McClane character for good. When words are finally out that director Noam Murro attached to helm the fifth installment, with a script being written by Skip Woods, there is a glimmer of hope. But it's not until the forced departure of Murro to exit DIE HARD 5 after he is attached to direct 300 prequel XERXES.

With the current director out of the picture, there is a speculation that a possible new director might take over the fifth installment. According to Twitch, John Moore (MAX PAYNE) is being offered for the "take it-or-leave it" job. Seriously? John Moore? Hope this is not true.

In the meantime, the real plot details has finally revealed for DIE HARD 5. Unlike the previous four DIE HARD movies which occurred within the U.S. soil, the fifth installment will go global this time around. Believe it or not, DIE HARD 5 will take place largely in Russia with John McClane accompanied there by his son and the two eventually get themselves involved into a conflict with local forces.

Now how do you say "Yipee-kai-yay, motherf***er!" in Russia?

MR. & MRS. SMITH Goes Asian With Donnie Yen And Cecilia Cheung Attached!

It's about time! After years of tackling period roles, it's good to see martial-art superstar Donnie Yen is back in the modern action role since FLASH POINT (2007). According to Channel NewsAsia, Donnie Yen will appear alongside actress Cecilia Cheung in a Hong Kong adaptation of 2005 action blockbuster MR. & MRS. SMITH, which will be re-titled as ASSASSIN COUPLE. MR. & MRS. SMITH, is of course, the blockbuster hit which starred Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie as two assassin couples who are forced to compete each other before they eventually team up to overthrow their agencies.

Despite the remake, ASSASSIN COUPLE will feature a completely different storyline from the original movie, even though there are some similarities attached. According to The New Asia Entertainment Group (AEG), Yen and Cheung will play a couple skilled in martial arts and gunplay who attempt to deal with the love-hate relationship they share at home, even as they go about their lives as professional killers.

While Yen and Cheung had previously stated they would like to take a break from acting to spend time with their families, the AEG managed to convince them otherwise after offering them a lucrative amount of paycheck. Yen will take a whopping 30 million yuan for accepting the role, while Cheung gets 15 million yuan.

Their combined fees alone have nevertheless took up almost half of the movie's 100 million yuan budget.

Filming for ASSASSIN COUPLE is expected to start rolling in March next year.

While the title is kind of mundane, I'm eager to know the "completely different storyline" approach for this Hong Kong version. Although I wouldn't be surprised if this one going for the romantic comedy route, it also very appreciated if ASSASSIN ROUTE contains more grits to suit this as an ultimate Donnie Yen's action vehicle.

Adam Sandler Goes For A Gay Idea In Remaking THREE MEN AND A BABY?

The words of "lowbrow", "gay", "juvenile", "racist" and among similar others are no strangers to Adam Sandler's brand of comedy. And basically he has been repeating the same formula over and over again throughout his acting career.

Now it seems that the comedian is toying with the idea of remaking THREE MEN AND A BABY. Remember that movie? You know, the one which starred Tom Selleck, Steve Guttenberg and Ted Danson? Back then, the movie was a blockbuster hit with $167.7 million in the box-office! However, in Sandler's version, he won't be following the similar plot where a trio of swinging bachelors forced to become the protective guardians of an infant. Instead, their characters will be changed into a polyamorous gay couples. And the ideal cast? Here goes: David Spade, Chris Rock and Rob Schneider. All three of them were last collaborated together in 2010's GROWN UPS.

Adam Sandler is reportedly getting that particular idea from an episode of MTV's Real Life, which focused on three gay men attempting to bring a forth person into their relationship. Additionally, his three cast, are said to like the idea as well and they may contribute to the screenplay together. As for Sandler himself, he will not appear in THREE MEN AND A BABY remake but will likely have a cameo.

All-Star Cast Takes Crowd In Garry Marshall's NEW YEAR'S EVE Trailer!

Garry Marshall had a successful all-star romantic comedy before in last year's VALENTINE'S DAY, which starred a collection of recognizable talents including Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Biel, Patrick Dempsey, Jamie Foxx, Anne Hathaway and many others.

This year, on December 8, Marshall attempts to replicate the same formula again with NEW YEAR'S EVE. Like VALENTINE'S DAY, the movie chronicles the lives of several couples and singles in New York intertwine over the course of New Year's Eve. Yup, same concept but different premise.

And the all-star cast for the second round are as follows: Ashton Kutcher, Robert De Niro, Katherine Heigl, Josh Duhamel, Carla Gugino, Zac Efron, Abigail Breslin, Jessica Biel, Sofia Vergara, Alyssa Milano, Michelle Pfeiffer, Hilary Swank, Sarah Jessica Parker, Halle Berry, Julie Andrews, Sienna Miller, John Lithgow, and many others.

In an exclusive interview with Bulgaria-based NU Boyana studios CEO David Varod for Novinite.com, he has confirmed list of casts involved in Simon West-directed THE EXPENDABLES 2, which hits theaters next summer. Here's what he had to say below:

"Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, John Travolta, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Chuck Norris, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke...who else? Of course, Bruce Willis. The director is Simon West, who is also a name. He is already here and has started working on the film. I believe the sequel will be better than the first movie."

Whoa, John Travolta and Chuck Norris? Now that is surprising, especially the casting of Chuck Norris in the mix. I mean, when is the last time we get to see Chuck Norris in action these days?

DEEP IMPACT Director Mimi Leder To Frontline ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT

Lewis Milestone's ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT (1930) was one of the best WWI movies of all-time. The movie, which was adapted from Erich Maria Remarque's novel of the same name, won two Oscars for Best Picture and Best Director (Lewis Milestone).

Now Mimi Leder, director of DEEP IMPACT and THE PEACEMAKER, is making her big screen comeback with a remake of that 1930 WWI classic. Like the original movie, the remake will also based on the novel.

The remake is definitely a terrific resurgence for the long-forgotten Mimi Leder, whose last feature movie was 2009's forgettable direct-to-video heist flick called THICK AS THIEVES. But back in her heydays, she used to be one of the few female directors to look out for -- TV's ER, DEEP IMPACT, THE PEACEMAKER and PAY IT FORWARD.

The shooting is expected to start in 2012.

Kate Beckinsale Looking Hot On The Set Of TOTAL RECALL

Take a look at Kate Beckinsale on the set of the TOTAL RECALL reboot. The gorgeous star plays Lori, a role originated by Sharon Stone in the 1990 version. She was spotted filming the reboot in Toronto, Canada where she was seen walking around the set with a prop gun and also filming a scene in a futuristic Dodge police car. Mumbles is facing a dilemma because Erik has a fear of dancing. However, when their Antarctic paradise is threatened, both father and son must team up with other creatures (Tiny Krill, The Mighty Sven, Elephant Seals) to save their kingdom.

LIMITLESS Director Neil Burger To Revitalize BONNIE AND CLYDE

Wow, talk about being ambitious. LIMITLESS director Neil Burger, who is currently in the process of helming UNCHARTED: DRAKE'S FORTUNE, is now in talks to team up with screenwriter Sheldon Turner and producers Sean and Bryan Furst and Marissa McMahon, to make a new version of BONNIE AND CLYDE.

BONNIE AND CLYDE was previously made into feature movie back in 1967. One of the key movies of the 1960s, the movie was directed by Arthur Penn and starred two iconic actors Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway.

It would be interesting to see how Burger can matched up Arthur Penn's unforgettable classic original for today's generation.
